Student-Led Undertaking Grant

The Board will consider funding grant requests for SLUs that further experiential learning opportunities. Park Tudor clubs overseen by a Park Tudor faculty or staff representative may apply for such a grant if the SLU meets the following criteria: 

• Meets the definition of Experiential Learning: the process through which students develop knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting. 
• Requires funding related to SLU expenses. 
• Receives written approval from both the faculty/staff advisor and the Upper School Director prior to submission of the grant application. 
• Gives a 3 to 5-minute presentation in support of the application. Presentations will be heard by the Board prior to allocation decisions, at the Board’s November meeting.

By April 1, grant recipients must provide the Board with a written report summarizing the actions, learnings, and accomplishments of the SLU (maximum 300 words) along with other digital materials (e.g. photos or videos of participants, event, or final product, graphs, samples, etc.) to support the report. 

• Maximum of $1,500 per SLU may be allocated per school year. 
• Funds will be deposited into a designated Park Tudor account. 

• Ground transportation and/or conference fees for a group to attend an out-of-town exhibit or speaker. 
• Supplies or bringing in a speaker for an experience related to the group’s focus. 
• Fees to a particular event that will enhance understanding and strengthen knowledge of a particular subject (e.g., local conference, in-person learning activity). 
• Equipment enabling a group to achieve its mission or goal. 

The Board will consider grant applications once per calendar year. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. (EST) of the 3^rd  Friday of October.

• The Board reserves the right to consider applications submitted outside these timelines and will consider special requests for early review and consideration. 

• Applications can be accessed online at parktudor.org/alumni/grant. Once you complete the application questions, please print the completed application and have both the Upper School Director (Sarah Webster) and the applicable SLU club sponsor sign the application.
• Completed and fully signed applications, as well as final deliverable reports, to be submitted to Kate Broadbent, Alumni Relations Officer.
