The Artisan has earned Most Outstanding Literary-Arts Magazine and First Place with Special Merit by the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA). Literary magazines are scored on a point system evaluating page design, graphics, headlining, cover design, photography, and other elements of literary magazines. Based on the point system, literary magazines are awarded First with Special Merit, Second, or Third Place.
The Artisan was also awarded the rank of SUPERIOR in the 2019 NCTE Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Program. The National Council of Teachers of English congratulated the faculty advisor and the students who produced this exceptional publication. The mission of NCTE's REALM Program is to publicly recognize excellent literary magazines produced by students with the support of their teachers. REALM is designed to encourage all schools to develop literary magazines that celebrate the art and craft of writing.The Artisan is an excellent example of this mission in action.
Finally, The Artisan was awarded Third Place in the Best of Show competition by the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) at their annual convention. This ranking signifies overall excellence of the publication.
