Cross Country: The boys and girls cross country teams opened their season last Saturday at Noblesville on the Chinquapin Ridge XC course at White River Elementary. The girls team finished fifth overall and the boys team finished seventh. The boys team was led by strong performances from Dan Muhkin and Jack Button, while the girls were led by Sophia Kennedy and Gretchen Farley, who placed second and third. The Panthers will be in action again this weekend at Brownsburg for the Brownsburg Invitational. The girls are set to race at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by the boys at 9:15 a.m. Pease mark your calendars for Senior Night, which will be held at halftime of the first home football game on Friday, 9/18.
 
Football: The Park Tudor football team opened the season with an impressive win over the Gophers from Clinton Prairie High School, 59-21. The Panthers will be back in action next Friday, 9/11, at Trader’s Point Christian Academy vs. the Knights. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. The team will play their home opener on Friday, 9/18, hosting the Tiger Cubs from Greencastle High School. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.; this will also be Senior Night, so please come out and support our seniors!
 
Volleyball: The volleyball team is currently 8-0 and ranked #8 in class 2A. The team defeated both Speedway High School and Union County last weekend in a Round Robin at Speedway High School. They then defeated the Blackhawks from Sheridan High School on Monday in three straight sets. The team has exhibited a balanced attack on the court throughout the month of August and will be back in action this evening at Central Christian Academy vs. the Chargers in a varsity-only match at 5:30 p.m.
 
Girls Golf: The girls golf team has continued their season showing great improvement over last year both as a team and individually. The girls recently finished 1st in a 3-team match against Lawrence Central and Lawrence North, and also defeated Pike in a dual match at Saddlebrook Golf Club. A tough loss to a good University squad followed those victories last week. Before those matches, the girls made a trip out to Connersville for an 18-hole invite on Saturday, August 22, finishing in a very respectable 7th place and dramatically improved their score from last season. Sophomore Sia Patel leads the team in scoring average followed closely by juniors Mary Kate Tanselle and Audrey Wang. With Marion County and Conference matches this week the girls will be looking to play their best golf at the right time of year as Sectionals are right around the corner.
 
Boys Tennis: The boys varsity tennis team placed 7th last weekend in the John Shirley Invitational at North Central High School, while the JV/freshmen placed 4th in the Carmel Invitational. The team will be in action on Saturday at Terre Haute South Vigo vs. the Braves at 11:00 a.m. They will host the Braves from Brebeuf Jesuit on Tuesday, 9/8. This will also be Senior Night for the team, so please mark your calendars and come out and support our seniors. 
 
Boys Soccer: The boys soccer team is currently 1-2-1 and ranked #7 in the state in class 1A. All the Panthers' opponents up to this point have been ranked in the top 20 in the state. The team lost a tough opening match of the year to #4-ranked class 2A Guerin Catholic. They bounced back nicely and were able to pull out a win last week against the #8-ranked class 2A Sparkplugs from Speedway High School. The team will be in action this evening at Tabernacle Recreational (418 E. 34th Street) vs. the Blue Devils from Shortridge High School; game time is set for 5:00 p.m. They will then travel to Bethesda Christian to take on the #11-ranked class 1A Patriots at 10:00 a.m. Please mark your calendars as Senior Night will be held on Tuesday, 9/15, when the team hosts the Hornets from Beech Grove High School.
 
Girls Soccer: The girls soccer team is currently ranked #1 in the state in class 1A. The team has started the season with a 4-1 record, with their only loss coming from the #8-ranked class 3A Orioles from Avon High School. The team will travel to Brownsburg High School this evening to take on the Bulldogs in a varsity-only contest at 5:30. They will then host the Cougars from Greenfield Central High School this Saturday (9/5). The JV match is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by the varsity match at 11:30 a.m.
