Girls Lacrosse: Last night the girls lacrosse team played Homestead at Park Tudor in the Sectional final and won 19 to 9. They will move on to the State Semifinals on May 31 at 6:00 p.m. at Heritage Christian, most likely vs. South Bend St. Joseph. If victorious, they will play in the State Finals on Saturday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m. at Heritage Christian.

Boys Volleyball: It was a bittersweet end to the season for the Panthers, with the team falling in Sectionals. Seniors Lorenzo Harrington and Taban Kahre received Academic All-State accolades. Brennan Kahre was nominated for second team All-Region, while Taban Kahre made first-team All-Region. Taban also earned a spot on the Indiana All-Star team. Congratulations to the team on a great season and to our recently graduated seniors Dru Defrantz, Lorenzo Harrington, and Taban Kahre.

Boys Lacrosse: The boys lacrosse team finished the season 8-7 and ranked #8 in 1A. Team leaders on the season were Jack Sturman (50 goals, 36 assists), Jack Anderson (77 ground balls), Yoav Ehrlich (58% save percentage), and Anthony Peng (59% faceoff percentage). Will Richer scored his 100th career goal this season. Jack Anderson will represent the team in the state All-Star Game on Friday, June 2. The team graduates an exceptional group of eight seniors, all of whom were starters at their position: Jack Anderson (LSM), Tommy Crossin (midfield), Anthony Peng (faceoff), Charlie Perine (midfield), Wes Rapp (defense), Will Richer (attack), Van Smith (midfield), and Jack Sturman (attack).

Girls Tennis: The girls tennis team faced off against Covenant Christian in the semifinal round of the Regional Tournament on Tuesday and emerged victorious, 5-0. Following are their scores:

  • 1. Singles: Caitlin VanWinkle won 6-1, 6-0
  • 2. Singles: Shreya Mallela won 6-0, 6-0
  • 3. Singles: Anamaria Ebersole won 6-1, 6-1
  • 1. Doubles: Marissa Benge/Caroline VanWinkle won 6-0, 6-2
  • 2. Doubles: Katie Pavlack/Natalie Whitacre won 6-0, 6-2

Yesterday the team faced a tough squad from Zionsville High School in the Regional Finals and brought home a victory to move on to Semistate; they will play at Center Grove on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

Softball: The Panthers posted a loss (8-1) to rival Brebeuf on May 17, but finished the regular season on a high note with a 20-5 victory over Indiana School for the Deaf. They also posted a victory (11-8) vs. Irvington Preparatory Academy on Monday, May 22 in the first round of Sectionals.

Baseball: The baseball team finished their regular season with a record of 20-7. On Thursday, May 18 they posted a 7-5 victory over Triton Central, and then followed that up with a loss (5-4) to Pike High School on Monday. They began IHSAA Sectional play last night at home vs. Triton Central and posted a 7-0 win. They will play in the next round of Sectionals on Monday, May 29 at 12:30 p.m. at Park Tudor; if victorious they will play in the Sectional Championship on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Track and Field: Congratulations to the boys track team on their Sectional meet last Thursday. The following athletes qualified to Regionals and will compete this evening at Lawrence Central at 6:00 p.m.

The girls team participated in the Pike Regional meet on Tuesday. Simone Hall placed 8th in the open 400, Kate Weigand placed 8th in pole vault, and our 4x400 team of Simone Hall, Sophia Kennedy, Isabella Wilburn, and Gretchen Farley placed 6th. In the 800-meter run, Gretchen Farley placed 1st in a school-record time of 2:05.88 – the second-fastest time in state history and the seventh fastest in the country so far this season. Sophia Kennedy placed 1st in the 3200-meter run in a school-record time of 10:00.56 – also the second-fastest time in state history and the thirteenth fastest in the country so far this season. Congratulations to our girls on their outstanding performances! Sophia and Gretchen qualified to the IHSAA Girls State Meet which will takes place on Saturday, June 3 at Indiana University (Bloomington). You can find more details here.
