Boys Lacrosse: The boys lacrosse team went 2-0 last week, defeating the East Side Engineers 4-0 at home and then besting the Valparaiso Vikings 16-2 on the road. Senior Ethan Cline notched 3 of the Panthers' 4 goals in the East Side game, while senior Daniel Peyton led the team with 7 ground balls. Junior midfielder Jackson Nie won 5 of the game's 7 faceoffs, and junior goalie Adam Wilkerson was awarded the game ball by his teammates for recording the ultra-rare lacrosse shutout.
In the Valparaiso game, Cline again led the team in scoring, this time with 2 goals and 3 assists. Freshman Jacob Wilcox and sophomore Ryker Harris picked up 7 ground balls each, one short of Nie's team-leading 8. Nie won 8 of the 9 faceoffs he took, and Harris went an astonishing 10 of 10. For the second game in a row, Wilkerson allowed zero goals, making way for sophomore Lucas Deatherage the second half. For his all-around effort, Ryker Harris was awarded the game ball.
Park Tudor has moved into the top 10 in the Indiana 1A rankings, and they face a tough contest at home on Friday against class 2A Brebeuf. Faceoff is set for 5:30, and the teams will play a 5th JV quarter after the conclusion of the varsity game.
Softball: The Panthers hosted their first home game against Horizon Christian School on Monday. The team faced a tough defeat to Horizon Christian with a final score of 21-0. This brings the Panthers' record to 1-1.
Baseball: The baseball team took their annual trip to Nashville, TN during the second week of spring break. Both the varsity and JV teams competed and were 3-0 for the trip. The varsity is currently 5-1 as they defeated both Monrovia and North Central last week, and then Bethesda Christian on Tuesday. They will be at home again this evening for a PAAC Conference matchup vs. GCA at 5:30 p.m., and are scheduled to host the Warriors from Covenant Christian on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. for a varsity-only contest.
Girls Lacrosse: The girls varsity lacrosse team earned a big win on the road at Fishers on Tuesday, 16-13. The team was led by juniors Issy Wallace and Lauren Richer, who each had five points on the game; senior Mary Jane Furqueron, who had four points, three ground balls, and three draw controls; and senior Chloe Anderson with two goals, five ground balls, and five draw controls. Freshmen Ella Sorrell and sophomore Lila Cleary contributed admirably in the draw, which was crucial to the victory. The team will be back in action tonight at Zionsville, before finishing the season with three home games: April 29 vs. Noblesville; May 1 vs. North Central; and May 5 vs. Lawrence North. May 5 is senior night, so please come out and support our team!
Boys Volleyball: The boys volleyball had an eventful week last week, taking home three consecutive wins over the International School (3-1), Cardinal Ritter (3-0), and University High School (3-1). They fell short in a close match against Greenwood Christian this Monday (1-3), bringing their record to 4-5. They are pursuing a Marion County Tournament run at home later this week.
Girls Tennis: The girls varsity tennis team is currently 4-0. The varsity team defeated Zionsville 4-1 and Providence 3-2. Our JV team lost to Zionsville 11-3 and due to inclement weather, they were unable to play against Providence. The team faced North Central yesterday; varsity won 5-0, and JV won 6-4. The team will host the PT Invite on Saturday with Brownsburg, Columbus North, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Jasper, South Bend St. Joe and University High School; play will begin at 8:00 a.m.
