Baseball: The varsity baseball team traveled to Scecina Memorial last Friday and pulled out the victory, 13-12, in a very exciting game. The JV team team hosted Scecina at PT on Friday, and they were also victorious by the score of 11-1. At Friday's game, both teams participated in Indiana High School Baseball’s Jackie Robinson Day ; both teams wore a replica #42 jersey celebrating Jackie Robinson, and proceeds from the event throughout the state benefited the organization The BASE, which provides support to young people through baseball. Both teams also posted wins on Monday; the JV knocked off the Sparkplugs from Speedway High School 9-1, while the varsity traveled to Waldron to defeat the Mohawks 14-0. Both teams will head to Covenant Christian on Saturday for a JV/V doubleheader. The varsity will start at 10:00 a.m. with the JV to follow.
Girls Tennis: The girls tennis is back in action this week. Their match against Brebeuf was cancelled on Tuesday, but we are looking to reschedule. The team faced North Central in their first home match on Wednesday, and today the team will travel to Guerin Catholic. They will host some of the top teams from around the state on Saturday for the PT Invite.
PT Tennis Coach Andrea Calvert-Sanders was interviewed last week on WISH-TV's "The Zone Extra" talking about the season. You can view the interview here.
Softball: Softball successfully battled Trader's Point, Providence Cristo Rey and Riverside this week, and now boast a record of 4-0. Highlights from their most recent game against Riverside include a grand slam from Halle Shelt and a "3 hit" performance from Zoe Sims Rhodes and Jaidyn Lindsey. The defense continues to hold tough, especially with the infield. A notable moment came in Friday's win against Providence Cristo Rey with Jose Lacy on first base starting off a triple play!
Boys Golf: The boys golf team finished 2nd out of 16 teams on Saturday at the Richmond Invitational in their first tournament of the year. Ian Harris finished tied for 2nd individually with a score of 73. The team will play in the Noblesville Invitational this Saturday and the Marion County tournament on Monday.
