Swimming: On Saturday, the boys and girls swim teams competed in the PAAC Conference meet at Ball State University. The girls team finished 5th overall while the boys team finished 4th. Sophomore Kate Weigand was the PAAC Conference Champion in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.27, which was also a new PAAC Conference record. Senior Alex Badman was also PAAC Conference Champion in the 50 yard freestyle, with a time of 25.07. The team then traveled to Decatur Central on Tuesday evening to compete in a multi-team event. The team placed second overall; highlights are listed below. The team will be in action again next Saturday (1/22) at Warren Central for the Warrior Invite. Swimming is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Also, please mark your calendars for January 28, when the swim team will honor their seniors at halftime of the boys home basketball game.

  • 1st in boys 200 medley relay - Evan Li, Sreesragvee Atluri, Alex Badman, Peter Dubie
  • Ellie Hunter - 2nd, 100 freestyle and 1st, 50 freestyle
  • Alex Badman - 1st in 50 freestyle & 100 butterfly
  • 1st in girls 200 free relay - Kate Weigand, Zoe Paugh, Ellie Hunter, Ellie Rogers
  • Kate Weigand - 2nd, 200 freestyle
  • Evan Li - 2nd, 100 backstroke

Girls Basketball: The girls basketball team is currently 10-6 for the season with 5 games remaining on their regular-season schedule. The team hosted the Patriots from Bethesda Christian on Tuesday, but unfortunately were defeated in overtime by the score of 60-55. The team will host the Saints from Lutheran High School this evening for a varsity-only contest at 6:00 p.m. The team will then travel to Liberty Christian in Anderson on Saturday for a PAAC Conference crossover game at 12:00. The team will honor their seniors for Senior Night on Wednesday, 1/26, when they will host the Tigers from Crispus Attucks. The girls sectional draw is right around the corner and will be held on Sunday, 1/23; it can be viewed in

Boys Basketball: The boys basketball team began Marion County Tournament play on Tuesday evening, defeating the Sparkplugs from Speedway High School 58-47 to advance to the second round; unfortunately the Panthers lost last night to a very strong team from Ben Davis. The team will be back in action next week with regular-season play at Speedway High School on January 18 for both JV and varsity contests. The team will then host the Patriots from Bethesda Christian on Friday, 1/21, for both JV and varsity games.
