Sixth-Grade Class Hears From Son of Holocaust Survivors During Their Studies on the Diary of Anne Frank
Sixth graders have been reading the dramatization of The Diary of Anne Frank, and on Friday, April 18, they had the incredible opportunity to bring history to life by hearing from Dr. Alex Kor, son of Mickey and Eva Kor—both Holocaust survivors; Eva was also a Mengele twin. He shared an important message that we are all connected to our past and have a responsibility to share it with others.
Dr. Kor spent time thoughtfully answering questions the students had prepared about the Holocaust, his mother and father's experience, and life as the son of two survivors. Dr. Kor concluded by reminding students to cherish their families and to honor them by continuing to make the world a better place to be.
Thank you, Dr. Kor, inspiring our students with your family's story of resilience.
