Robotics Teams Off to a Great Start

This season, Panther Robotics is fielding nine robotics teams - three high school teams, and six middle school teams. If the remainder of the season is anything like the first four weeks, this should be another extraordinary season for PT. Following is a summary of the tournaments so far:

  • Lewis-Cass Schools Tourney – Excellence Award
  • Walker Career Center Tourney – Tournament Champions, Design Award & Robot Skills Award
  • Kids, Inc. Tourney – Tournament Champion, Excellence Award & Robot Skills Award
Panther Robotics at Park Tudor Tournament

On November 17, Panther Robotics hosted the first of two Park Tudor-sponsored VEX Turning Point Tournaments. The Panthers hosted a top-notch event thanks to the many team members, parents and volunteers. Panther Robotics teams also competed in the event:

  • Team 6842Z “PigPen” (Zach Phelps, Humza Raza) continued their winning streak. They finished the qualification rounds in 1st place and were selected by 323Y “The Flux Capacitors” to join their two-team alliance. Team PigPen brought home another tournament champion trophy. Zach and Humza also scored the 2nd highest driver skills score in the WORLD. See the list of world-ranking teams.
  • Team 6842V “Viper” (Jathan Pai & Andrew Behringer) finished 18th overall and picked 22nd seed 6842W “Whipper Snappers” (Alexander Boeckmann, Tucker Hawkins & Sragvee Atluri) to join them in the 13th seed alliance. During the finals, they upset the bracket when they beat the 5th seed to go on to the quarterfinals.

This weekend, Panther Robotics will be attend two different tournaments at Heritage Christian School and Greenfield-Central Schools.
