Park Tudor students competed at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) District Piano and Vocal Contest on January 28 and the Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 4.

In the Piano and Vocal Solo and Ensemble District Contest, Park Tudor had 84 total entries - 78 solos (38 piano and 40 vocal) and 6 vocal ensembles. The Lower School had 24 students participate with 6 performing in both a solo and ensemble event (5th grade only). The Middle School had 37 students participate, with 2 performing in both solo events, 6 performing in a vocal ensemble, and 3 performing in both a solo and vocal ensemble event. Nineteen Upper School students participated with 2 performing in both solo events, 6 performing in a vocal ensemble event, and 4 performing in both a solo and vocal ensemble event.

At the January 28 contest, Park Tudor students earned 84 Gold ratings out of 88 entries. Seven group-one level entrants qualified for the State Contest on February 18 - 3 pianists: Sreesragvee Atluri, Kaitlyn Park, and Owen Warner; and 4 vocalists: Alexander Boeckmann, Alexandra Barker, Emily Hackwelder, and Pritikaa Biswas.

In the District Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 4, ISSMA awarded 33 soloists with Gold medals and 4 soloists with Silver medals in Groups I-V. Sixteen ensembles comprising 77 musicians earned Gold and 2 ensembles comprising 7 musicians earned Silver in their respective Groups.

Eight Upper School Group I soloists - Hannah Hampson, Austin Goyco, Xander King, Owen Zhang, Caroline VanWinkle, and Ingrid Spartz - and our Group I Renaissance ensemble earned Gold and qualified to represent Park Tudor at the ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble contest later this month. Two Middle School soloists - Audrey Ko and Lauren Lo - also earned Gold at Group I and will also perform for adjudicators at ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble on Saturday, February 25.
