Panther Robotics Qualifies for VEX Worlds
Panther Robotics hosted the inaugural SPEEDWAY: Tower Takeover VEX Robotics Signature Event on November 8 and 9 at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This exciting event featured 55 top VEX Robotics teams from all around the US and Canada. The competition was a great success, and all teams had a wonderful time. Mr. Weymuth did an amazing job organizing, and has even been asked to host other events!
In addition to hosting the event, four Panther Robotics teams competed:
  • Team 6842Z - PigPen - dominated the tournament as the only team to go undefeated through 10 qualification matches. In addition, PigPen won the Robot Skills competition with a second-in-the-world score and won the coveted High School Excellence Award, the highest award in the Vex Robotics Competition. This award qualifies PigPen for the 2020 VEX Worlds competition.
  • Team 6842C - Cobra Kai - also had an outstanding showing, going 6-4 to finish in 21st place. More importantly, Cobra Kai won the Middle School Excellence Award, also qualifying for VEX Worlds in April 2020 in Louisville, Kentucky.
  • Team 6842A - Aftershock - went 6-4 and finished in 16th place. This builds on the outstanding season they have been having, which includes 2 tournament championships so far!
  • Team 6842V - Viper Snappers - had a tough schedule, but pulled out some victories in later rounds, and given more time they could have been a dominant force in the elimination rounds.
