Fifth-graders and JK Students Partner Together for MLK Jr. Day of Service Activities
Fifth-grade and Junior Kindergarten teachers partnered to plan activities for an MLK Jr. Day of Service. One class read the book “We March” and learned how Martin Luther King Jr. used his leadership to create a community that believed in peace, equality, and freedom. Fifth-graders helped JK students trace their hands and write their dreams. Another class read the book “We All Belong” and discussed their differences versus similarities, what peace looks like, and how we can be peaceful at school.
