College Corner: PT Hosts More than 100 Colleges This Fall

By Sue Stemen, Director of College Counseling

The College Counseling Team is busy this fall working with seniors on college applications, reviewing essays, conducting mock interviews and meeting individually to refine and balance their college lists. In addition, we are hosting more than 100 colleges and universities that visit Park Tudor each fall.

On September 12 the entire sophomore, junior and senior classes attended three presentations from 32 different out-of-state colleges and universities. Students also had a 20-minute browsing period to collect information from the following schools:

  • American University (DC)
  • Bates College (ME)
  • Bradley University (IL)
  • Case Western Reserve University (OH)
  • Colgate University (NY)
  • College of Wooster (OH)
  • Dartmouth College (NH)
  • Denison University (OH)
  • DePaul University (IL)
  • Dickinson College (PA)
  • Elon University (NC)
  • Johns Hopkins University (MD)
  • Kenyon College (OH)
  • Lafayette College (PA)
  • Miami University (OH)
  • Middlebury College (VT)
  • New York University (NY)
  • Oberlin College (OH)
  • Rhodes College (TN)
  • Southern Methodist University (TX)
  • Tulane University (LA)
  • University of Alabama (AL)
  • University of Chicago (IL)
  • University of Dayton (OH)
  • University of Denver (CO)
  • University of Kentucky (KY)
  • University of Southern California (CA)
  • Vanderbilt University (TN)
  • Vassar College (MA)
  • Villanova University (PA)
  • Wittenberg University (OH)
  • Xavier University (OH)

During the first week in October, all juniors and seniors visited with the following Indiana colleges and universities during Advisory:

  • Ball State University
  • Butler University
  • DePauw University
  • Earlham College
  • University of Evansville
  • Franklin College
  • Indiana University
  • IUPUI
  • Manchester University
  • Marian University
  • University of Notre Dame
  • University of Southern Indiana
  • Purdue University
  • Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

These visits are vitally important as the college representatives are usually the ones reading our seniors’ applications and this allows our students to establish a more personal connection with the school.
