AP Art History Students Tour Cathedrals

On Wednesday, December 5, AP Art History students toured Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Carmel and St. Joan of Arc Church in Indianapolis to review their studies of Byzantine and Early Christian church architecture and enhance their understanding of how sacred spaces function within religious practice and belief. The class also had a pop quiz as they drove by Second Presbyterian Church (Park Tudor's former Commencement church) to make sure they could identify its Neo-Gothic style. They passed with flying colors!

Photos show students listening to our Holy Trinity tour guide and (by his invitation) getting the best view of the paintings decorating the interior of the church's dome.
