As an educational institution, our primary concern is that Park Tudor is a safe space for our entire community. Like all of you, we are acutely aware of the events of the last few days in Minneapolis, other cities across the country, and also here in our own hometown of Indianapolis. We recognize that many of us are feeling overwhelmed, heartbroken, and grief-stricken. We see, understand, and empathize with the pain, grief, and turmoil that the Black community and many others across the country are experiencing, and we support efforts to restore peace and unity. We are particularly concerned given that these events are taking place in the midst of a crippling pandemic which has hit some communities especially hard.
Please know that we are here for you. We also recognize that some of our students might be struggling to process recent events, which might be especially challenging since they are physically separated from the school, teachers, counselors, and others who provide support. We are working on ways to assist students who might be having difficulty at this time, and details will be made available soon.
In the meantime, please know that we will continue to work to ensure that Park Tudor is a safe space for all. Stay healthy, stay safe, and stay hopeful. We feel confident that we will all be together again soon.
