On Saturday, October 6th, 11 of our Novice debaters (freshmen and sophomores) traveled to Munster, IN for the Munster High School Novice Tournament, which is the larger debate tournament of the season for Novices in Indiana.

Nine of our 11 debaters placed in their events and won awards. Annie Flowers won first place out of 24 total Lincoln-Douglas debaters in her first tournament ever with an undefeated 4-0 record. Jade Thomas won 5th place in LD with a 3-1 record.

In Public Forum debate, partners Lauren Long and Lauren Kittle won 3rd place out of 14 in their first tournament ever going 3-1, and partners Ahmed Athar and William Morris won two matches, going 2-2.

In addition, our World Schools Debate team of Alex Griesemer, Ethan Kacena-Merrell, Brian Zhu, and Evan Piper won first place in their event with an undefeated record.
