Curriculum
The Middle School curriculum engages students by using a theme for each grade level, which helps them to understand the relationships between and among different subjects. Various activities highlight these relationships, such as computer assignments, class discussions and group work. This approach helps students to use higher-level thinking skills by applying what they have learned in one discipline to other areas.
Students also exercise their creativity through art, music and theatre classes, and their bodies in physical education classes.
The Middle School Advisory program allows students to explore a topic of interest. Faculty advisors and students work together to form a fun, educational experience designed to encourage student participation while increasing awareness of self, others and the world. Some of the topics include transitions, stress, time management, study skills, diversity and equality, conflict resolution, identifying individual learning profiles and self-esteem.
