How to Access Canvas from a Computer
Parents can sign up as an observer in Canvas. Observers can link their Canvas account to their student's account so they can see assignment due dates, announcements, and other course content. Observers can view the course content but cannot participate in the course.
At this time, Park Tudor is not using the blue Canvas Parent mobile app. Our testing has found it to inaccurately display information. If you have already downloaded the app and created an account, you will need to follow the directions below to set up your Canvas account to begin observing your student.
To create your account, you must access Canvas through a desktop web browser. You will need a pairing code from your child.
- Your child needs to login to Canvas and generate a Pairing Code for you. This is done in Account > Settings > Pair with Observer. After clicking the button, a six-digit code will display. Parents need this code to set up an Observer account. The code expires in 24 hours and is good for one-time use (each parent needs separate codes).
- Open Park Tudor Canvas Link
Visit https://parktudor.instructure.com. - Select "Parent of a Canvas user? Click here for an account"
- Complete your Name and Email address and create a password. Enter the six-digit Student Pairing Code. Click "Start Participating."
Congratulations! You may now observe your student's account with Canvas.
After you have completed the initial registration, you can log into Canvas from any web browser — mobile or desktop.
How to Add Additional Students
After you have completed the registration process for your Canvas account, you can add additional Park Tudor students to observe. You will need each student's username and password.
- Log in to Canvas with your parent username and password.

- Enter in the Student Pairing Code.
- Click "+Student" which adds to Students Being Observed.
- Repeat as necessary for additional students.
