Middle School Musical

We are pleased to announce the selection of the Broadway Junior edition of Disney's "The Lion King" as our Middle School dramatic production for Spring 2017. Our production is an adaptation specifically designed for middle school students and is about 70 minutes in length.

Directors for our production are Emily Ristine Holloway, dramatic director; Ron Morgan, choreographer; Melanie Marshall, musical director; Nolan Brokamp, technical director; and Jeanne Devos Bowling, costumer.

Our production is open to ALL interested 7th and 8th grade students who can meet the rehearsal requirements and are in good academic standing. Students DO NOT need to be currently enrolled in choir, acting or technical theater classes to participate. Eighth grade Advanced Technical Theater students serve as the crew for the production. They may, however, audition to be in the cast if they so wish.

About Our Show:

Music Theater International and Disney have just recently released "The Lion King" to be performed by middle school groups, and we are very excited to have this fabulous production available for Park Tudor students.

Participation in a school dramatic production is an enjoyable and highly rewarding experience for our students. It does, however, require a serious commitment of both time and effort from the student and their family. For this reason, we publish our complete rehearsal schedule prior to auditions.

We do work together with the athletic department to allow the students to complete their winter sports commitment (if that sport practices during the PE period) while beginning their participation in the play. Students who elect to participate in a spring sport may need to miss practice and possibly a meet/game in early April when our final rehearsals move to the stage.

For these reasons, we require a permission slip to be completed and presented to the directors at auditions.
