Teaching Fellow in Mathematics

Park Tudor currently has an opening in the Teaching Fellows Program in Mathematics starting in the fall of 2017. This is an extraordinary opportunity for new graduates with an interest in teaching Elementary School Mathematics. The two-year program is open to graduates with an elementary education degree, particularly those with a focus in Math or STEM-related fields.

The fellowship is designed to provide new teachers meaningful classroom experience while working daily with master teachers. The program also includes extensive professional development—both at Park Tudor and beyond—to help new teachers deepen their knowledge of pedagogy. Responsibilities include significant curricular preparation, daily direct instruction (both group and individual), and the opportunity to work on curriculum development with their classroom teacher. Fellows will also assist with all forms of assessment.

Fellows will be paid a Fellow’s salary, including benefits, and will also receive extensive summer professional development opportunities both the summer prior to starting at Park Tudor and also the summer between the first and second year. In addition, Fellows have the opportunity to earn additional compensation by working with the Lower School’s Robotics Program, Computer Science/Programming and other afterschool initiatives.

Technology Integrator

Park Tudor is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative professional for a Technology Integrator position. The position will work with students and faculty in the Upper School and across divisions to integrate technology in the classroom and to enrich and support teaching and learning.

Candidates must have proven technological experience, be student-centered, be knowledgeable of adolescent development, and be willing to engage in all aspects of the Park Tudor community. Classroom teaching experience is required and private school experience and those with an advanced degree are preferred. This is a twelve-month position, beginning July 1, 2017, and reports to the Director of Technology.

While having a key role in the Upper School, the Integrator will empower faculty to weave technology into the classroom and implement a number of K-12 technology initiatives. This position works closely with two other Technology Integrators to provide services throughout the school.

The Technology Integrator’s specific responsibilities include:

  • Proactively seeks out opportunities with faculty to enrich curriculum through technology
  • Empower, support and collaborate with Upper School faculty to coordinate training sessions that are tailored to specific classroom projects and practices
  • Serve as a customer service liaison for all technology related hardware and software support issues at the Upper School level for faculty and students
  • Play a key role in implementing professional development for our school-wide Learning Management System
  • Maintain a high level of visibility within the Upper School
  • Serve as the school’s Textbook Coordinator
  • Other duties as assigned

Speech & Debate Coach

Park Tudor School is seeking applicants for an Upper School Speech Coach and an Upper School Debate Coach effective immediately in preparation for the 2017-18 school year. Teaching opportunities could possibly be available and non-teaching applicants will also be considered for the position.

Specific Duties include:

  • Model and support the School’s mission, vision, and values
  • Manage and direct all aspects of speech and/or debate activities at Park Tudor School.
  • Mentor and guide Upper School students along with developing the program and team.
  • Use sound, proven methods of coaching and display knowledge and innovation of speech and debate.
  • Oversee tournament schedule, coordinate tournaments on School calendar with Director of Fine Arts and transport students to and from tournaments with School vehicle. (Must go through a driving clearance and be comfortable with driving a shuttle).
  • Comply with all applicable rules of set forth by the NFL, including coaching techniques and eligibility.
  • Design, oversee, and tournament preparations.
  • Exhibit ethical conduct and appearance before, during, and after practice/tournaments.
  • Support all levels of the program at Park Tudor along with all other school programs and extra-curricular activities.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Park Tudor Fine Arts Department and School.
  • Work with school staff to encourage and monitor students’ academic development and performance.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred
  • Speech and/or Debate coaching experience at the high school level is preferred
  • Classroom experience in secondary education
  • Strong Communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Cultural competence in all areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Teaching Assistants

Park Tudor is currently seeking Teaching Assistants. This position offers the opportunity to work with our students (grades junior kindergarten through grade 5) including by not limited to: serving as a resource for innovative instructional practices, assisting with classroom instruction, as well as assisting with campus-wide programs. Teaching Assistants will also assist in the preparation of classroom materials and handle other clerical responsibilities as needed.

Ideal candidates will have a teaching degree; have experience with educating preschool or lower school children; exhibit excellent communication skills, sound judgment and innovation; and have experience with current technology.
