Teacher - Upper School Biology

Park Tudor is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative Biology Teacher for our Upper School (grades 9-12) for the 2017-18 school year. Candidates must have previous teaching experience in Biology or AP Biology. In addition, we seek an outstanding candidate who has a particular passion and interest in supporting student research and developing and teaching unique and interdisciplinary electives like Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Environmental Science. An ability to also teach Chemistry is preferred, as well as an advanced degree.

As a member of a faculty, the candidate should be highly collaborative, student-centered, knowledgeable of adolescent development, and willing to engage in all aspects of the Park Tudor community.

The Science Department provides a comprehensive, diversified, and sequential program of study combining instruction in basic concepts and skills with extensive material to enhance and advance knowledge in the field. Courses in the department range from Biology to post-AP Organic Chemistry. Members of the department recognize the individuality of each learner and as a result are thoughtful and innovative in their approach to communicating the subject. Teacher - Upper School Math

Park Tudor is currently seeking an experienced and energetic teacher of mathematics for our Upper School (grades 9-12) beginning in August 2017, for the 2017-2018 school year.

Candidates should have previous teaching experience and should be student-centered, collaborative, and willing to engage in all aspects of the Park Tudor community. A Park Tudor teacher must be able to work well with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds and should also have a collegial mindset.

An advanced degree is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate would also have experience in curriculum development.

In addition to offering the foundational courses of a traditional math curriculum, Park Tudor has several math course options depending upon students’ interests and abilities. These options include three AP courses as well as non-AP Calculus.

Girls Head Volleyball Coach

Park Tudor School is seeking applicants for the position of Girls Head Volleyball Coach effective immediately in preparation for the 2017-2018 school year. Teaching opportunities could possibly be available; however, non-teaching applicants will also be considered for the position.

Specific duties include:

  • Model and support Park Tudor’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage and direct all aspects of volleyball activities at Park Tudor School.
  • Mentor and guide Middle School coaches along with developing the program and teams.
  • Use sound, proven methods of coaching and display knowledge and innovation of sport.
  • Comply with all applicable rules of the sport set forth by the IHSAA and NFHS, including coaching techniques, game operations, and eligibility, compliance, and rule interpretations.
  • Design, oversee, and direct structured off-season programs.
  • Exhibit ethical conduct and appearance before, during, and after practice/contests.
  • Support all levels of the program at Park Tudor along with all other athletic programs and extra-curricular activities.
  • Recruit, oversee and evaluate the coaching staff.
  • Develop a relationship with the admissions office to aid in the interest and enrollment of qualified prospective student-athletes.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Park Tudor Athletic Department.
  • Create relationships with other Park Tudor coaches to help cultivate multi-sport athletes.
  • Work with school staff to encourage and monitor students’ academic development and performance.

Required Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Volleyball coaching experience at either the high school, club, or collegiate level
  • Strong communication, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Cultural competence in all areas

Preferred Credentials:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Head coaching experience
  • Classroom experience in secondary education

Co-Ed Middle School Head & Assistant Track & Field Coaches

Park Tudor School is seeking applicants for co-ed head and assistant middle school track and field coaches effective immediately and in preparation for the 2017 spring season. Practice times are from 3:30 – 5:00 on most school days. Home and away meets begin between 4:30 and 5:00.

Maintenance Grounds Manager

Park Tudor is currently seeking a Maintenance Grounds Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt, twelve-month position reporting to the Director of Facilities & Grounds.

This individual will be responsible for the maintenance of the Park Tudor grounds including the live turf, ornamental landscaped areas, planting beds, and the irrigation system while also performing a wide variety of grounds-related tasks. These types of skills are both skilled and unskilled in nature such as:

  • Operating lawn mowing equipment, weed-eater and lawn edger
  • Driving a truck with trailer, tractor and small front loader
  • Spreading mulch on planting areas
  • Knowledge of herbicides, pesticides and small spray equipment
  • Operating small chainsaws and tree and pruning equipment
  • Various tasks and use of equipment related to snow removal

Qualification Requirements:

  • A valid Indiana driver’s license and good driving record
  • Working knowledge and experience in the operation of equipment required for maintaining landscaped areas and snow removal
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills and also be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to lift, twist, bend, climb, and carry 50 pounds
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other staff, students, parents and visitors
  • Must be able to work schedules necessary to maintain property and accommodate school functions all year round, including work on a rotating Saturday schedule
  • Ability to perform other non-grounds related maintenance tasks

Qualifications Desired:

Knowledge and experience in the following areas is desired: welding, mechanics, tree trimming, irrigation, herbicides and pesticides certification, medic and/or first aid card.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Degree: High School diploma/GED
  • Experience: 2 - 5 years experience in grounds management

Teaching Assistants

Park Tudor is currently seeking Teaching Assistants for the remaining 2016-2017 school year. This position offers the opportunity to work with our students (grades junior kindergarten through grade 5) including by not limited to: serving as a resource for innovative instructional practices, assisting with classroom instruction, as well as assisting with campus-wide programs. Teaching Assistants will also assist in the preparation of classroom materials and handle other clerical responsibilities as needed.
