World Languages
Instruction in world languages at Park Tudor begins in junior kindergarten and continues through grade 12.
Spanish is completely integrated into the curriculum in junior kindergarten through grade 5. Language study at an early age enables the student to develop a better accent, a respect and appreciation for cultural diversity, a clearer understanding of his or her own language and the world, and enhanced listening and thinking skills.
In grade 6, students may elect to begin French or continue Spanish. In eighth grade, students may elect to begin Latin.
The Upper School requires two years of language study for graduation. However, most students take three years or more. Students may continue the language they studied in Middle School or they may switch to something different. Advanced Placement classes are offered in Spanish, French, German and Latin. Seniors are eligible to take Classical Greek.
A fully equipped digital audio/video language lab provides students the opportunity to master conversation, pronunciation and comprehension skills.
