Tuition/Financial Aid

Tuition

At Park Tudor, we’re committed to expanding children’s understanding of the world and the opportunities they encounter. Through scholarships, payment plans and need-based financial aid, we work toward making a Park Tudor education feasible for deserving children throughout our area.

A recent survey of public school parents revealed that 57% would enroll their child in a private school if they believed they could afford to do so. Most families interested in a private education, however, never investigate the opportunities. A number of financing options can make a private school education possible. Awards are made not only to families whose ability to pay is limited, but also to those of more substantial means who may need only a small subsidy to meet our tuition charges.

This year Park Tudor has awarded more than $2.5 million in financial aid to nearly 33 percent of our student population. The average amount of a financial aid award is $7,400. Additional information on scholarships is included below.

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of a Park Tudor education; it represents approximately 73% of the school’s operating budget income. The school's endowment makes a significant contribution to help support academic programs, scholarships and faculty enrichment. In 2007-2008, the endowment is contributing more than $3,600 toward each child's education.

Scholarships

Park Tudor awards nearly 100 students in grades 9-12 almost $470,000 in academic scholarship funds. The size of the scholarships ranges from $500 to full tuition. The average scholarship was more than $5,000. Many students earning scholarships also receive financial aid.

Appleseed Academic Honor Awards – 20 or more scholarships are awarded annually to students in grades 6-12 to increase the diversity of Park Tudor. One-hundred percent of financial need is met, and an honor stipend of 10% of the annual tuition is awarded. The Park Tudor Admissions Office reviews the academic and extracurricular strengths of each applicant and selects the recipient. The scholarship is renewable annually subject only to the recipient earning at least a B average, receiving passing grades in all courses, maintaining a good disciplinary record, and being involved in the life and activities of the school.
