Physical Education

Park Tudor’s physical education curriculum provides scientifically based opportunities to develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes for all students through fundamental movement, rhythmic sport, and fitness activities. Our aim is to help students develop lifelong skills that include regular, vigorous exercise and sports.

We believe that health is the state of total physical, mental, and social well-being, not just freedom from sickness or ailments. Wellness is a way of living each day that includes choices and decisions based on healthy attitudes and values. Our curriculum provides opportunities to develop an understanding that each person has a great deal of control over his or her personal level of wellness, and that daily choices affect health now and in the future. We believe that the choices a person makes affect total fitness, and that a high level of overall fitness enables people to better manage the stresses of daily life.

A Park Tudor Physically Educated Person is one who:
• has learned physical skills and used them regularly;
• is physically fit;
• knows the implications/benefits of exercise;
• and values physical activity.

A complete preschool kindergarten through grade 12 Health and Physical Education program builds problem-solving skills, enhances group deliberation skills, encourages achievement of potential, fosters physical activity and health, develops an understanding of lifelong wellness, and teaches the importance of teamwork and work ethic.
