PT Girls Track State Meet 2010Girls Track State Meet: Congratulations to junior Abby Farley, state champion in the girls 800m run! This was Abby's second straight title in the event, and she set a new state meet record, crossing the finish line in 2:09.50, almost four seconds ahead of her closest competition.

Watch video of Abby's record-setting race on YouTube via IHSAA Sports (starts at 2:23), and on IndySportsNation.com.

Also competing at the IHSAA girls track state meet at Indiana University Bloomington on June 4 was the girls 4x400m relay team of Constance Lee, Christine Lucas, Emily Massel and Abby Farley. The relay finished 16th with a time of 4:01.95. Overall, the team scored 10 points to earn 27th place.

In total this season, three girls track and field school records were broken. Abby's time in the 800m at state (2:09.50) set a new standard; Emily Massel set a record in the Pole Vault at 8'6"; and freshman Lauren Lowry threw 109'6" in the Discus for a new school record.

PT Boys Track State Meet: Henry FarleyBoys Track State Meet: Henry Farley was the lone representative for PT at the boys track state meet at IU Bloomington on June 5. It was his first appearance at state. Like his sister, he also competed in the 800m; he took ninth place and set a new school record in 1:54.79.

In addition to Henry's new school record at the state meet, the 4x400 relay team of Richie Beaton, Rashad Rush, Trent Mervine and Henry Farley established a new school record earlier this season, setting a time of 3:24.69 for the record books.
