“My favorite thing about Park Tudor is the freedom and the friendly environment. I also like how everything is just cool. You are not teased for being in band or other activities that may not be considered cool at other schools. Park Tudor is challenging, but if you manage your time you will have time for lots of other activities.”
• Favorite subjects: Math/Algebra and French
• Activities: Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Band, French Club, Café Club (Cultural Acceptance for Everyone), Tech, Class Council (2011) and Student Ambassador

“What I like most about Park Tudor is the great education experience provided by the teaching staff. The teachers get to know you and understand your strengths and weaknesses. Our Student Ambassadors respond to questions they hear most frequently from middle and high school students who are considering Park Tudor.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Park Tudor?
A: Katie, Class of 2014: “My favorite thing about Park Tudor is the fact that there is something for everyone. Whatever it is that you like, there is a club or class or team for it.”
Shannon, Class of 2011: “I love how small it is. You know just about everybody at the school, and it feels really good to be able to do that.”
Q: What are the most important things that you’d tell a prospective student?
A: Katie: “I would tell them that even though right now everything looks scary you’ll get used to it and grow to like it.”
Shannon: “The transition from middle to high school is so much easier at Park Tudor than you would think it would be.
Q: Why did you choose Park Tudor?
A: Katie: “My mom chose Park Tudor because of the small class sizes.”
Shannon: “Well, one day, I made a list of all the schools that I was considering. I made a list of the things that I liked about the school and things I didn’t like. When I got to Park Tudor, I couldn’t think of one thing to put in the 'Didn’t Like' category.”
Q: Are the people nice?
A: Katie: “Everyone is very nice and welcoming. We all know how it feels to know nobody and not know what’s going on.”
Shannon: “The people are so nice it’s almost unreal.”
Q: Is the school really hard?
A: Katie: “Park Tudor is hard enough that you can’t breeze right through it, but not so hard that you’re totally lost.”
Shannon: “The school is difficult, but not hard. There is definitely a push in homework. You must keep up, and there is no slacking off, but I don’t think that there is anything hard about it.”
Q: What are the teachers like?
A: Katie: “The teachers are understanding but tough.”
Shannon: “The teachers are the best part about the school. When you need help they are always there for you. There’s never been a time where I’ve asked for help and they didn’t immediately help me, or schedule the soonest possible time for me to come in and get help.”
Q: Is everyone only focused on academics, or is there time for fun too?
A: Katie: “At PT we take our academics very seriously, but we never forget to have fun.”
Shannon: “Oh, no, academics aren’t the only thing that we focus on. There is definitely a big athletics and arts interest at PT. The greatest thing is that at Park Tudor, you don’t have to automatically be skillful. Some kids that have great potential but aren’t just perfect at what they do might get cut at other schools, but PT helps bring out that potential and helps everyone improve.”
Q: What are the sports like?
A: Katie: “The sports are really fun.”
Shannon: “They’re great. It’s nice to know that you can be in a sport that you are interested in, but never played before. It’s also nice to know that we have trainers and coaches that can work with us and help us improve.
