One of the many highlights of a student’s day is a visit to Clowes Commons for lunch.

The meal for students in senior kindergarten through grade 5 is steeped in tradition, as all students are served “family-style.” A mix of students from each grade level share duties at each dining table. A hot entrée is retrieved from the serving line by the fifth-grade “table head,” then served at the table. Meals are rounded out with a vegetable, starch, bread, milk and dessert. Students also have a daily choice of a deli sandwich, salad bar, peanut butter and jelly sandwich and fresh whole fruit. A “peanut-free” table is available for those with nut allergies.

Students in the preschool kindergarten program are served lunch in a lunchroom located in the Hilbert Early Education Center.

Middle and Upper School students have an even wider variety of choices in a program styled after those of many colleges. The daily hot entrée, set on a five-week cycle, heads up the offerings, along with a variety of hot vegetables.

Other daily offerings include:
• Deli bar featuring a wide variety of meats, cheeses and breads
• Chicken patties, hamburgers and French fries
• Made-from-scratch soups
• Bread and bagel bar
• Fresh whole fruit
• “Trends” bar featuring rotating favorites such as pasta, nachos, pizza or “chef prepared- to-order” items such as fajitas, chicken Caesar salad and stir-fry.

Special-event meals ranging from outdoor cookouts on the “Chuck Wagon BBQ” to “County Fair” day dot the monthly menu to liven up the lunch program for all grade levels.

Park Tudor’s Food Service offers a variety of healthy snacks for students enrolled in the After-School and Extended Day programs. Students participating in after-school programs may also participate in the "Box Lunch" program. All menus are certified by Aladdin Food Service dietitians to ensure they meet nutritional guidelines.
