Fine Arts at Park Tudor School
Park Tudor recognizes the importance the arts play in the development of the human spirit and intellect. At Park Tudor the arts are valued as a necessity – an exploration of human understanding and an important way of knowing oneself. The Fine Arts philosophy emphasizes curricular and extracurricular opportunities to help students grow in self-confidence through the development of aesthetic skills.
With a complete program in music, theatre, visual arts and dance, Park Tudor offers very young children to maturing high school students the chance to explore their talents and skills in a variety of ways.
Faculty Specialists in their Fields
Twenty-four faculty and adjunct faculty members comprise the Fine Arts Department staff. These well-trained individuals fine-tune their own artistic skills through membership in performance groups and participation in community arts organizations.
The group often joins forces on projects and performances, particularly for the popular Upper School spring musical. The faculty has a genuine respect and consideration for the individual talents of students, and teaching techniques are directed to enliven aesthetic and creative instincts.
Opportunities for Performance and Participation
Park Tudor offers a variety of age-appropriate performance opportunities for students, as highlighted on the pages specific to each discipline.
Our students have won many awards in the Prelude Competition, a countywide high school contest in Visual Art, Literature, Vocal and Instrumental Music, Drama, Film/Video and Dance, as well as many other national, regional and local fine arts competitions.
